Taihan is participating in ELECS KOREA 2026, held at COEX from February 4 to 6, where it is showcasing its total submarine cable solutions and technological excellence. ELECS KOREA 2026 is a premier exhibition featuring power transmission and distribution equipment, power generation facilities, and renewable energy solutions. Under the theme “Connecting Grids, Securing Energy,” approximately 220 domestic and international companies are participating this year. At the exhibition, Taihan is presenting total solutions capable of supporting the West Coast Energy Highway and offshore wind power projects under the concept “From the West Coast to the World, Taihan Connects New Energy Pathways.” The company is also introducing its R&D achievements, including eco-friendly new products and next-generation technologies. At the center of the booth, Taihan is displaying prototype 525 kV-class HVDC submarine cables applicable to the West Coast Energy Highway. The exhibition also introduces Taihan Ocean Works, a specialized submarine cable installation company acquired last year, as well as information on a dedicated HVDC Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) currently under review. By placing its HVDC submarine cable turnkey solutions at the forefront, the company emphasizes its readiness to participate in the West Coast Energy Highway project. Furthermore, Taihan highlights its capability to execute the entire submarine cable value chain, encompassing design, manufacturing, transportation, installation, engineering, and maintenance. The exhibition includes a scale model of PALOS, Korea’s only CLV dedicated to offshore wind power, along with an exhibition space introducing Submarine Cable Plant 2, which will be equipped with production capabilities for 640 kV HVDC and 400 kV-class HVAC submarine cables. In addition, the company is showcasing a range of new products made with eco-friendly materials and new technologies developed through collaboration with research institutions and corporate partners, reinforcing its technological competitiveness in building sustainable energy infrastructure. Vice Chairman Jong-min Song stated, “Based on our HVDC technological capabilities and competitiveness, we will contribute to the successful execution of the West Coast Energy Highway, a core component of the national power grid,” adding, “Leveraging our turnkey solution capabilities, we will accelerate our entry into global HVDC markets and position ourselves as a leader in the global energy transition.” Vice Chairman Song attended the opening ceremony on the first day of the event and visited the exhibition hall to discuss business expansion opportunities with key customers.

Taihan Unveils Total Solution for the “West Coast Energy Highway” at BIXPO 2025- Showcases 525kV HVDC Submarine Cable Prototype under the Theme “From the West Sea to the World”- Presents the CLV “PALOS” and Announces Plans for a New HVDC Cable Laying Vessel, Highlighting Turnkey Capabilities- Demonstrates Technological Leadership through Project Achievements, New Products, and Advanced SolutionsTaihan participated in BIXPO 2025 (Bitgaram International Electric Power Technology Expo), held from November 5 to 7 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju, Korea. Hosted by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), BIXPO is Korea’s largest international exhibition for power technology, bringing together around 200 domestic and global companies under the theme “Connecting with Energy.” Participants showcased the latest innovations shaping the future of the electric power industry. Under the theme “From the West Sea to the World – Taihan Connecting New Energy Pathways,” the company unveiled a total solution that supports both the West Coast Energy Highway and global offshore wind projects, emphasizing its readiness and technological competitiveness. A key highlight was the first public display in Korea of a 525kV HVDC submarine cable prototype, suitable for deployment in the West Coast Energy Highway project. The cable will be produced at Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 2, a state-of-the-art facility equipped with production capabilities for 640kV HVDC and 400kV HVAC submarine cables, featuring Korea’s tallest 187-meter VCV (Vertical Continuous Vulcanization) tower. The plant is scheduled to begin full-scale operations in 2027. Taihan also showcased the “PALOS,” Korea’s only CLV (Cable Laying Vessel) dedicated to offshore wind projects, and announced plans to secure an additional 20,000-ton-class HVDC CLV to expand its construction capacity in response to growing global demand. To further strengthen its offshore installation competitiveness, the company introduced Taihan Ocean Works, a specialized submarine cable installation subsidiary acquired in July. This expansion enables Taihan to deliver turnkey solutions across the entire submarine cable value chain, from design, manufacturing, and transportation to installation, engineering, and maintenance. The exhibition also featured inter-array submarine cables currently being supplied for the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Project, and a dynamic submarine cable prototype designed for floating offshore wind applications. Taihan additionally presented eco-friendly products and co-developed technologies with various research institutions and partners, underscoring its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the future power infrastructure market. Vice Chairman Jong-min Song attended the opening ceremony and met with key clients to discuss cooperation and business expansion.He remarked, “It is meaningful to present our total submarine cable solution for HVDC projects such as the West Coast Energy Highway at this major exhibition, where industry leaders from home and abroad have gathered. Hosted by RenewableUK, GOW is the largest offshore wind exhibition in the UK and a leading event for global developers, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers. Under the theme “Connecting a New Future from the Seabed,” Taihan presented its integrated offshore wind power solutions, including a scale model of ‘PALOS’, Korea’s only dedicated cable-laying vessel (CLV), and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cable systems. The company underscored its turnkey competitiveness, encompassing the full value chain—from design and manufacturing to transportation, installation, and maintenance. Taihan spotlighted major achievements such as the Yeonggwang–Nakwol Offshore Wind Project, where it is supplying the cables and laying them using PALOS. PALOS successfully completed the first phase of export cable installation in May, will be deployed for the second phase in June, and is scheduled to begin inter-array cable laying in July. Additionally, Taihan introduced its submarine cable manufacturing infrastructure: the fully completed Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 1, capable of producing both inter-array and export cables, and Plant 2, which will commence operations in 2027 and manufacture 640kV-class HVDC submarine cable systems. Vice Chairman Jong-min Song attended GOW 2025 to meet with global power companies and partners, reinforcing collaboration and exploring business expansion. The event brings together U.S. federal and state government officials, major European countries including the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland, as well as global offshore wind developers and equipment suppliers. It serves as a key platform for sharing the latest technologies, market trends, and research developments in offshore wind energy. Under the theme “Connecting the Future from the Seamarine,” Taihan highlighted its turnkey competitiveness in submarine cable systems. The company introduced its first submarine cable plant in Dangjin, set for full completion in the first half of this year, and its second plant, recently confirmed for construction at the Godae Pier site in Dangjin. These facilities underscore Taihan’s growing production capacity and commitment to supply chain resilience. Taihan also exhibited a model of Palos, Korea’s only dedicated Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) for offshore wind power projects, demonstrating its ability to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions—from submarine cable design and production to transport, installation, and maintenance. A major highlight of the exhibition was the first public display of Taihan’s 525kV HVDC submarine cable prototype currently under development. The company plans to begin production of the HVDC submarine cable systems at its second plant in 2027, targeting offshore wind projects in North America and other global markets. The Offshore Wind Power Solutions section featured submarine cables alongside a model of the Palos, Korea’s only Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) dedicated to offshore wind power. The company also introduced its first submarine cable plant and the second plant under development at Dangjin Godeok Pier, highlighting its turnkey capabilities across the entire submarine cable value chain. Taihan also showcased HVDC cable systems, which are considered the backbone of next-generation power grids. The company presented Korea’s first 500kV LCC(Line Commutated Converter) HVDC cable system, a 525kV VSC(Voltage Source Converter) HVDC cable system (3,000SQ, 90°C operating temperature), and the 320kV VSC HVDC cable system recently secured in the U.S. In addition, the company highlighted it’s the aging power grid replacement solutions, including the Triplex cable, Traverse Guide Puller, and next-generation eco-friendly transmission technologies such as the 345kV compact cable, 500kV carbon fiber-reinforced lightweight overhead conductors, and spacer-integrated electronic transformers.

Taihan participated in the APAC Wind Energy Summit 2024Taihan participated in the APAC Wind Energy Summit 2024, held from November 26 to 28 in Songdo, Incheon. This event, the first international wind power exhibition in Korea, provided the company an ideal platform to highlight its submarine cable turnkey solutions. At the summit, Taihan presented progress on its first submarine cable plant, now in its second stage of construction, plans for a second plant at Dangjin Godeok Pier, and unveiled “PALOS,” Korea’s only CLV for offshore wind power The company will also present its track records of submarine cables to projects both domestically and internationally since 2009, as well as its plans to develop the largest cable production cluster in Korea at the Dangjin Godae site. The company’s strategy is to gather all its domestic production facilities, including cable factories, solution factories, and Submarine Cable Plants 1 and 2, into the Dangjin Godae to achieve maximum synergy. During the exhibition, Vice Chairman Song Jong-min visited the exhibition hall with employees from the submarine business division and technology research center, interacting with representatives from global power companies to boost partnerships.

With the theme “Journey to the Future of Energy,” this year’s BIXPO saw participation from more than 200 companies, both local and international. Taihan’s booth at this exhibition featured themes such as offshore wind power solutions, High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems, solutions for replacing aging transmission networks, and eco-friendly power devices, highlighting many key and strategic products supplied worldwide. It also showcased research and development achievements, including new construction methods in the power sector conducted jointly with KEPCO, emphasizing its technological capabilities. Specifically, the offshore wind power solution theme was placed in the center of the booth to underline the company’s capability to manage the entire value chain of submarine cables, from design and production to transportation, installation, and maintenance. Taihan Cable & Solution exhibited submarine cables and the model of “Palos,” the only CLV for offshore wind power in Korea, and disclosed its investment plan for a submarine cable plant. Taihan also introduced latest technologies, such as the 500kV current type HVDC onshore cable system and the 525kV voltage type HVDC land cable system (3,000SQ, allowable temperature 90°C), which were developed for the first time in Korea. In addition, it exhibited solutions for replacing aging power grids, including Triplex cables and directional cable-laying devices, foreseeing sustainable growth in this field.

Taihan revealed they have participated in the “CIGRE 2024"Taihan revealed they have participated in the “International Council on Large Electric Systems 2024 (hereinafter referred to as CIGRE)” held from August 25th to the 30th. CIGRE is the largest global organization in the field of electric power transmission and distribution with about 100 member countries, 1,200 organizations, and over 15,000 experts. CIGRE holds biennial conferences, named Sessions, and exhibitions to share the latest technology and research achievements. In this year’s session, Taihan organized its booth under the theme of “Total Solution Provider, Across the Continents and to the Sea ” where next-generation products and anchor products were showcased including the offshore wind power solution, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system, and extra high voltage (EHV) power grid system. The offshore wind power solution was prominently displayed in front of the booth, highlighting the comprehensive turn-key capabilities, from the production of submarine cables to their installation. Taihan showcased its accomplishment of supplying submarine cables to projects in Korea and overseas, as well as the only cable laying vessel (CLV) model for offshore wind power in Korea. In addition, the step-by-step investment plan for the ongoing Submarine Cable Plant. The HVDC cable system, designated as the national core technology, was also revealed. Taihan possesses advanced technologies, including the 500 kV current source HVDC land cable system, the first in Korea to be developed, and the 525 kV current source HVDC land cable system (3,000 SQ; allowable temperature of 90℃). It also introduced various EHV power grid projects carried out across Europe, the birthplace of the cable industry, including the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, as well as the London Power Tunnels Phase 2 (LPT2) project, a large-scale tunnel construction project in London, UK.
