Taihan is reinforcing its turnkey competitiveness by unveiling its comprehensive HVDC submarine cable solutions.
Taihan is participating in ELECS KOREA 2026, held at COEX from February 4 to 6, where it is showcasing its total submarine cable solutions and technological excellence.
ELECS KOREA 2026 is a premier exhibition featuring power transmission and distribution equipment, power generation facilities, and renewable energy solutions. Under the theme “Connecting Grids, Securing Energy,” approximately 220 domestic and international companies are participating this year.
At the exhibition, Taihan is presenting total solutions capable of supporting the West Coast Energy Highway and offshore wind power projects under the concept “From the West Coast to the World, Taihan Connects New Energy Pathways.” The company is also introducing its R&D achievements, including eco-friendly new products and next-generation technologies.
At the center of the booth, Taihan is displaying prototype 525 kV-class HVDC submarine cables applicable to the West Coast Energy Highway. The exhibition also introduces Taihan Ocean Works, a specialized submarine cable installation company acquired last year, as well as information on a dedicated HVDC Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) currently under review. By placing its HVDC submarine cable turnkey solutions at the forefront, the company emphasizes its readiness to participate in the West Coast Energy Highway project.
Furthermore, Taihan highlights its capability to execute the entire submarine cable value chain, encompassing design, manufacturing, transportation, installation, engineering, and maintenance. The exhibition includes a scale model of PALOS, Korea’s only CLV dedicated to offshore wind power, along with an exhibition space introducing Submarine Cable Plant 2, which will be equipped with production capabilities for 640 kV HVDC and 400 kV-class HVAC submarine cables.
In addition, the company is showcasing a range of new products made with eco-friendly materials and new technologies developed through collaboration with research institutions and corporate partners, reinforcing its technological competitiveness in building sustainable energy infrastructure.
Vice Chairman Jong-min Song stated, “Based on our HVDC technological capabilities and competitiveness, we will contribute to the successful execution of the West Coast Energy Highway, a core component of the national power grid,” adding, “Leveraging our turnkey solution capabilities, we will accelerate our entry into global HVDC markets and position ourselves as a leader in the global energy transition.”
Vice Chairman Song attended the opening ceremony on the first day of the event and visited the exhibition hall to discuss business expansion opportunities with key customers.
