Taihan Showcases ‘PALOS’ at GOW 2025, Strengthening Its Position in the European Offshore Wind Market
- Participates in the UK’s Largest Offshore Wind Exhibition
- Highlights Project Execution Capabilities with Korea’s Only CLV ‘PALOS’
- Reinforces Total Solution Competence from Design to Installation
Taihan is accelerating its expansion into the European offshore wind market by participating in Global Offshore Wind (GOW) 2025, held on June 17–18 at the Excel Convention Centre in London, UK. Hosted by RenewableUK, GOW is the largest offshore wind exhibition in the UK and a leading event for global developers, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers.
Under the theme “Connecting a New Future from the Seabed,” Taihan presented its integrated offshore wind power solutions, including a scale model of ‘PALOS’, Korea’s only dedicated cable-laying vessel (CLV), and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cable systems. The company underscored its turnkey competitiveness, encompassing the full value chain—from design and manufacturing to transportation, installation, and maintenance.
Taihan spotlighted major achievements such as the Yeonggwang–Nakwol Offshore Wind Project, where it is supplying the cables and laying them using PALOS. PALOS successfully completed the first phase of export cable installation in May, will be deployed for the second phase in June, and is scheduled to begin inter-array cable laying in July.
Additionally, Taihan introduced its submarine cable manufacturing infrastructure: the fully completed Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 1, capable of producing both inter-array and export cables, and Plant 2, which will commence operations in 2027 and manufacture 640kV-class HVDC submarine cable systems.
Vice Chairman Jong-min Song attended GOW 2025 to meet with global power companies and partners, reinforcing collaboration and exploring business expansion. He commented, “GOW 2025 is a meaningful opportunity to showcase Taihan’s differentiated capabilities to global developers. We will continue to evolve as a Total Solution Provider in offshore wind power and lead sustainable growth in the global energy market.”
