Taihan has completed the construction of its Submarine Cable Plant 1 in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, establishing production capabilities for a wide range of submarine cables, including inter-array, export, and dynamic cables.
Taihan is also constructing Submarine Cable Plant 2 on a site directly adjacent to Plant 1, with completion scheduled for 2027. The new plant will be equipped to manufacture 640kV HVDC and 400kV HVAC submarine cables and will feature a 187-meter Vertical Continuous Vulcanization (VCV) tower, the tallest of its kind in Korea.
Upon completion of Plant 2, Taihan will establish a comprehensive supply base for submarine cable solutions covering the full spectrum of offshore wind projects, further strengthening its position as a major supplier in the global submarine cable market.

Key Developments
Taihan has demonstrated its quality reliability and technological competitiveness by successively securing major projects, including the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Project, Anma Offshore Wind Project, and a grid interconnection project for the Shinan solar power project in Jeollanam-do.
Taihan is also continuously strengthening its R&D capabilities to enhance product safety and performance. These efforts include the transfer of technology for the Flexible Riser Installation System, a new submarine cable installation method developed by the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), as well as collaboration with Myongji University on the structural performance verification of submarine cables.

Taihan owns both cable-laying vessels (CLVs) for offshore wind projects introduced into Korea, establishing the country’s only CLV fleet.
With the Skandi Connector and PALOS, Taihan is strengthening its submarine cable installation capabilities. The company has further enhanced its expertise and project execution capabilities by incorporating Taihan Ocean Works, a specialized submarine cable installation company, as a subsidiary.
This enables Taihan to provide total solutions across the entire submarine cable value chain, from design and manufacturing to transportation and installation.
In response to the shortage of cable-laying vessels amid growing global demand for submarine cables, Taihan is also expanding into the vessel chartering business
to create new business opportunities.

In July 2025, Taihan incorporated Taihan Ocean Works, a company specializing in submarine cable installation and engineering, as a subsidiary.
Leveraging its specialized expertise and extensive project experience in submarine cable installation, Taihan Ocean Works operates Korea’s only CLV fleet. Through this capability, Taihan continues to strengthen its submarine cable installation capabilities and enhance its competitiveness in providing total solutions.
