Making flower boxes to support flower farmsOn July 15, Hoban Group employees participated in a volunteer activity called 'Making Flower Boxes.'This activity was conducted to support flower farmers who are experiencing difficulties and to support single-parent families. The participating employees received professional horticulture training and beautifully completed the flower boxes. The flower boxes made on that day were delivered to low-income, single-parent family facilities.

Conservation Activities for Endangered Species in Dangjin City for Biodiversity ProtectionThe Hoban Group's employee volunteer group, “Hoban Sarangnanumi,” made a donation of 10 million KRW to Dangjin City. This donation, collected from voluntary employee contributions, will be allocated towards the conservation of endangered species and the rescue of wildlife in Dangjin City, with the aim of protecting biodiversity. As a part of these initiatives, on December 20, 2022, Taihan employees participated in a feeding activity for endangered species, including the Korean water deer, in the vicinity of the Sapgyoho Lake Wildlife Protection Area in Dangjin City. Taihan will continue to be involved in various environmental conservation activities, working towards a sustainable future.

Hoban SarangnanumiActive Social Contribution InitiativeIn December of last year, the Hoban Group's employee volunteer group, “Hoban Sarangnanumi, carried out a activity in Hwa-hwe Village, Jangji-dong, Seoul. Despite the harsh winter weather, approximately 100 volunteers participated in this campaign to help the neighbors in need.A total of 6,000 pieces of charcoal were delivered to around 20 households. In addition, employees provided homes with essential items, totaling 600kg of rice, 600kg of kimchi, and 183 boxes of instant noodles, etc. In January of this year, the team initiated a “Voice Donation” volunteer activity. This involved reading storybooks aloud for underprivileged children who are unable to access suitable reading materials. The recorded storybooks, along with reading assistive devices, were donated to visually impaired children, multicultural families, and other marginalized groups. In March, 2023, the volunteers engaged in an activity called “Creating Learning Kits.” After receiving training from an art instructor, the volunteers personally illustrated eco-bags with messages of hope. The completed eco-bags were packed with stationery sets, paint, tumblers, and other items, and were then distributed to over 100 underprivileged children.

Volunteering in the "Lunchboxes Made with Love " CampaignThe taihan Nuri Volunteer Team, composed of Taihan employees, partnered with the Anyang City, Bisan Area, Social Welfare Center to conduct the "Lunchboxes Made with Love" volunteer initiative. This campaign was aimed at supporting vulnerable households in the Anyang area. The team personally prepared and packaged wholesome lunchboxes, featuring healthy dishes such as bulgogi (marinated beef), japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seaweed soup, and pumpkin pancakes, and ensured that they reached each household safely. Taihan remains committed to ongoing initiatives that promote an inclusive society.

Participation in the 20th Electric Love MarathonThe 20th Electric Love Marathon, hosted by Electric News, took place at Hanam Misari Motorboat Racing Park on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Despite the early morning rain, over 80 employees and their families braved the challenging weather conditions to participate in the event, cheering each other on to successfully complete their respective target distances. As the first in-person event in four years, this year's Electric Love Marathon was certainly one to remember! For the staff who took part, it was a meaningful opportunity to run alongside their colleagues, enjoy the festivities, and strengthen their sense of unity as a team.

Hoban Sarangnanumi Activities at Seoul Grand Park as PartOn Saturday, May 13, 2023, Hoban Group's employee volunteer groupover 100 Hoban Sarangnanumi members, including 16 Taihan employees, took part in volunteer activities at Seoul Grand Park. The team revitalized the exterior walls of the camel enclosure with vibrant murals, and worked tirelessly to create a safe and pleasant living environment for the animals by planting grasses and trees.

Performing social contribution activities with Hoban GroupOn November 12th, 2022, Hoban Group's employee volunteer group ‘Hoban Sarangnanumi' conducted a volunteer work for kimchi-making for the winter at Hyemyeong Orphanage in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. On this day, about 50 people gathered and made about 2,200 kg of kimchi for the winter, which will be consumed by the children at the orphanage in the next year, and the executives and employees of Taihan also participated in kimchi-making for the winter and joined the meaningful sharing. On Nov. 15th, 2022, the Hoban Scholarship Foundation and Taihan visited Dangjin City Hall and delivered a scholarship of KRW 30 million for low-income students in the city of Dangjin. Taihan has continuously made social contribution for the city of Dangjin, where the Dangjin Plant is located, and this scholarship was also delivered as part of the social contribution activities. In addition, in order to overcome the blood supply crisis caused by the prolonged COVID-19, the 'Blood Donation Campaign of Love' was held at the Hoban Park headquarters in Seocho-dong, Seoul from the Nov. 14th to 15th, 2022 and at the Dangjin Plant and the Dangjin Cable Accessory Plant of Taihan on Nov. 16th, 2022. About 100 executives and employees participated in blood donation and blood donation certificate donation. In addition, the Hoban Group employee volunteer group ' Hoban Sarangnanumi ' delivered KRW 10 million and 300 blood donation certificates to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation for children with cancer. The blood donation campaign of love is an activity that Taihan has conducted since 2013, and this year, it was expanded to the entire Hoban group.

Taihan takes part in regular volunteer activities “Taihan-nuri,” a volunteer group at Taihan, hosted a volunteer program titled, “Donating Voices for Children's Books” for children from multicultural families experiencing difficulties learning the Korean language. These children's books and assistive devices will be delivered to the Multicultural Family Support Center in Dangjin-si. Also, in collaboration with the Anyang-si Bisan Social Welfare Center, the company hosted a grocery shopping service for low-income families in the Anyang-si area. This “shopping service” is an initiative that involves buying and delivering items households across Anyang-si may need.

Taihan engages in clean-up activities to protect the environmentSince 2011, when Taihan signed an agreement with the city of Dangjin for the “One Company, One Coastal Care” campaign, the company has regularly taken part in volunteer activities to help the environment. On the latest clean-up day, employees collected more than a ton of garbage to create a cleaner coastal environment and a pleasant living environment for the locals. Employees also engaged in activities to protect the natural habitat of the Seoul Frog at the Dangjin Reservoir Ecological Park. The Seoul Frog is an endangered species whose population is rapidly declining due to the widespread use of pesticides and rampant environmental pollution. To this end, Taihan cleaned up the nearby environment with its employees to protect the habitat of the Seoul Frog. Meanwhile, the company has established a mid- to long-term strategy called “Green 2030” that lays out its plans to manage the environment, and is making efforts to help build an eco-friendly society. Going forward, Taihan is hoping to carry out various initiatives for a sustainable future.
