This contribution is designed to promote a culture of sharing and provide essential aid to underprivileged groups in the local community. The ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign,’ organized annually by Dangjin City, the Dangjin Welfare Foundation, and the Community Chest of Korea is a fundraising initiative aiming to spread compassion to neighbors in need. The campaign will run intensively for two months until January 31, 2026. The funds and goods collected will support crisis households requiring emergency aid, elderly individuals living alone, and people with disabilities, focusing on care services and livelihood stability. “We are consistently carrying out social contribution activities targeting various groups—including the elderly, children, and the disabled—to realize the value of mutual growth with the local community,” said an official from Taihan. “We remain committed to continuing diverse initiatives to extend a helping hand to more neighbors in the future.” Meanwhile, Taihan, together with the Hoban Group, is actively engaging in various community service activities in Dangjin, home to its key production hubs, including its cable plant and submarine cable factory. In March, the company participated in a tree-planting event hosted by Dangjin City, and in September, employees volunteered to harvest sweet potatoes to support local farmers. Additionally, Taihan delivers warmth to the community through comprehensive social contribution programs such as the ‘One Company, One Coast’ cleanup campaign, endangered species protection, educational support for children, and volunteer work for local farms.

Taihan Secures Fifth Consecutive ESG ‘A Grade’ Following Integration into the Hoban Group- The only wire and cable company to earn an Integrated A Grade in 2021 and maintain it for five consecutive years- Strong and well-aligned performance across Environment, Social, and Governance categories- Continuous achievements driven by structured implementation plans and organization-wide commitmentTaihan has reaffirmed its leadership in sustainable management by maintaining a top-tier ESG rating within the wire and cable industry. The company announced on the 20th that it received an Integrated “A (Excellent)” rating in the 2025 ESG assessment conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS). This accomplishment marks the fifth consecutive year Taihan has earned an A rating since becoming the only wire and cable manufacturer in Korea to achieve the distinction in 2021, following its incorporation into the Hoban Group. In the 2025 assessment, Taihan received A in the Environmental (E) and Social (S), and B+ in Governance (G), reflecting strong and consistent performance across the ESG pillars. These results are attributed to the company’s structured implementation strategies and its robust, organization-wide commitment to advancing ESG principles. Taihan continues to strengthen its sustainability efforts through its carbon-neutrality roadmap, installing solar power facilities and carrying out long-term ecosystem preservation projects. In collaboration with the Hoban Group, the company has also expanded its social contribution initiatives, including community volunteering, blood donation campaigns, and disaster relief efforts. Taihan also supports athletes with disabilities by providing employment and training opportunities. In addition, the company operates comprehensive family-friendly programs spanning pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare to enhance employee welfare and promote a more supportive work–life environment. To establish a transparent and ethical corporate governance culture, Taihan has reinforced its internal control and risk management frameworks and advanced its compliance systems. The company’s excellence in compliance was formally recognized through the acquisition of ISO 37301, the international standard for compliance management systems. A Taihan spokesperson stated, “Securing an Integrated A Grade for five consecutive years is a testament to our genuine commitment to ESG management and the collective efforts of all our employees,” adding, “We will continue to uphold ESG as a core value and pursue sustainable growth through balanced progress in environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent governance.” KCGS evaluates the ESG performance of domestic companies and assigns both category-specific and integrated ratings. In its 2025 assessment, the organization reviewed 1,024 companies, including 805 listed on the Korea Exchange, and awarded A Grade or higher to 216 firms, representing approximately 27 percent of those evaluated.​ 

Taihan Obtains ISO 37301 Certification for Compliance Management System-Strengthens risk management and internal controls through a compliance framework aligned with global standards-Enhances ethical awareness and establishes a proactive prevention system through dedicated teams and regular training-“A milestone to enhance corporate credibility and reinforce the foundation for sustainable management”Taihan has been internationally recognized for its excellence in compliance management. The company announced on the 3rd that it has obtained the ISO 37301 certification, the international standard for compliance management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 37301 defines the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving a compliance management system that enables organizations to identify and systematically comply with legal, regulatory, and internal obligations. The certification was granted by the Korea Compliance Initiative (KCI), an officially accredited body under the International Accreditation Service (IAS) in the United States. Through this certification, Taihan has been formally recognized for operating a compliance management system that meets global standards, effectively managing risks, and maintaining robust internal controls to ensure ethical and lawful business practices. Taihan has continuously advanced its compliance framework to establish a transparent and sound corporate culture. To ensure professionalism and independence, the company operates a dedicated compliance team and provides regular training to strengthen employees’ ethical awareness and compliance mindset.Additionally, Taihan enforces a Compliance Pledge Program with its business partners to promote fair trade practices and proactively prevent potential risks. A Taihan official stated,“This certification represents a significant step toward enhancing corporate credibility and strengthening the foundation for sustainable management. Going forward, we will reinforce compliance as a key pillar of ESG management and expand a culture of ethical and lawful conduct embraced by all employees and partners.” Meanwhile, Taihan has maintained an ‘A (Excellent)’ grade in the ESG Evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS) for four consecutive years since 2021, being the only cable manufacturer in Korea to achieve this rating in 2021.​

The initiative was organized to help farms facing labor shortages during the busy harvest season and to embody the company’s commitment to shared growth with the local community. The volunteer activity was held on September 26 in Janghang 1-ri and Samhwa 1-ri, villages near Taihan’s Dangjin Cable Plant, one of the company’s key production bases. Led by Executive Vice President Hyun-joo Kim, Head of Production Technology, and Labor Union Chairman Jin-yeon Kang, more than 50 employees harvested about 2,000 kilograms of sweet potatoes. The joint participation of management and labor union members symbolized unity and harmony, while the attendance of Dangjin Mayor Oh Seong-hwan and city officials further underscored the significance of the event. Earlier, on September 23, Taihan donated sweet potatoes and local specialties—including yakgwa (traditional Korean confection) and pumpkin bread made from Dangjin-sourced ingredients—to seven welfare facilities for people with disabilities through the Dangjin Welfare Foundation. These items were delivered to residents and facility users during the Chuseok holiday period. Mayor Oh expressed his gratitude, saying, “Taihan’s support has been a great help to local farms during this critical harvest season. We appreciate the company’s continued interest in our community and its meaningful social contributions.” A Taihan official stated, “We continue to carry out diverse social contribution activities for seniors, children, and people with disabilities to realize the value of shared growth with the community. We will continue to spread the warmth of sharing to more neighbors through ongoing volunteer initiatives.” Beyond this activity, Taihan also contributes to the development of the Dangjin community through tree-planting campaigns, educational programs for elementary school students, and other initiatives that promote sustainable regional growth.​ 

​Taihan Participates in Arbor Day Tree-Planting Event in Collaboration with Dangjin City- Engaged in the Arbor Day tree-planting event organized by Dangjin City- A total of 300 participants, including city officials and employees, planted 3,200 cypress trees- Ongoing eco-friendly initiatives such as coastal conservation, battery recycling, and endangered species protectionTaihan has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation in Dangjin. On April 26, Taihan announced its participation in the 80th Arbor Day Tree-Planting Event hosted by Dangjin City on April 25. The event was attended by Dangjin Mayor Oh Seong-hwan, city officials, local residents, and approximately 30 Taihan employees, including Executive Vice President Kim Hyun-joo, head of the Production and Technology Division—totaling around 300 participants. Organized by Dangjin City, the event aimed to raise awareness of forest conservation and promote carbon neutrality. Participants, including Taihan employees, planted 3,200 cypress trees in Dosan-ri, Jeongmi-myeon, while also cleaning the surrounding environment. Cypress trees were strategically selected for their exceptional air purification properties, and their planting is expected to expand green spaces and mitigate fine dust pollution. Mayor Oh Seong-hwan remarked, "Corporate-community collaboration plays a vital role in enhancing the local environment. We will continue to monitor and support the healthy growth of these trees into a thriving forest." A Taihan representative added, "Environmental sustainability is a fundamental value for both local communities and future generations. With this commitment in mind, we actively participated in the event and will continue working with the community to implement diverse initiatives for environmental preservation." Beyond tree-planting efforts, Taihan has been spearheading various environmental protection initiatives in Dangjin City, including the "One Company, One Coastline" initiative, battery recycling campaigns, and endangered species protection programs. The company remains dedicated to corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, education, and community development. 

Taihan has won an integrated A grade in the 2024 ESG Evaluation​Taihan announced on the 25th of October that it has won an "Integrated A grade" in the "2024 ESG Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). It is the fourth consecutive year that it has earned an A rating since it was the only one in the Korean cable industry to receive an integrated A rating in 2021. In this year's evaluation, Taihan received a grade of Environment (E) A, Social (S) A+, and Governance (G) B. In particular, the social sector fared the best, with only 172 companies out of 794 achieving an A+ rating. This is the highest grade possible in the assessment, as no company received an S across all categories.​ 

Construction of Solar Power Generation Facilities at Dangjin plantTaihan has set up independent solar generation facilities at the Dangjin plant. As part of the carbon-neutral roadmap to combat the climate crisis, the company has taken significant steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy efficiency. Taihan has installed solar power facilities covering 10,000 square meters of roof space across two buildings at the Dangjin Plant. These facilities are expected to generate 1,400 MWh of electricity annually, which will power both the plant and its production operations. The project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 630 tCO2eq annually, which equates to the environmental impact of planting around 4,300 pine trees. Taihan plans to continuously expand solar power generation facilities to increase the proportion of renewable energy use. The company is also evaluating the adoption of solar power facilities at its submarine cable plant 1, which is scheduled to finish construction by 2025.​ 

Establishing Carbon Neutrality RoadmapTaihan Cable & Solution has established a detailed carbon neutrality roadmap to achieve Net Zero by 2050. The greenhouse gas reduction targets are set according to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards. SBTi is a global initiative that validates corporate carbon emission reduction targets based on scientific evidence. Taihan plans to submit its reduction targets and implementation plans within the first half of this year, aiming to be the first in the domestic cable industry to receive approval from SBTi. According to its roadmap, Taihan plans to reduce the total amount of carbon emissions, both direct and indirect, from all its operations, both domestic and international, by 46% by 2031. In addition, the company aims to reduce carbon emissions from its entire value chain, including overseas subsidiaries, partners, and transportation, by more than 30% by 2031. The ultimate goal is to achieve Net Zero by 2050, meaning all carbon emissions from product manufacturing and business activities will be reduced to zero. 

Taihan has won an integrated A grade in the 2023 ESG Evaluation​Taihan announced on the 27th October that it has won an "Integrated A grade" in the "2023 ESG Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). It is the third consecutive year that it has earned an A rating since it was the only one in Korean cable industry to receive an integrated A rating in 2021. In this year's evaluation, Taihan received a grade of Environmental(E) A, Social(S) A+, and Governance(G) B+. In particular, the environmental sector has earned an A grade, a step up from last year's B+ rating. This is the result of reducing waste generation compared to the previous year, increasing the rate of eco-friendly purchases, and transparently disclosing key information. 

​​Hoban Sarangnanumi conducted kimchi-making for childcare center.  Hoban Group's volunteer team, 'Hoban Sarangnanumi,' conducted its 14th annual kimchi-making service at the Heymyung Childcare Center on November 4th.  The event brought together around 60 participants, including employees from Taihan. Despite the chilly weather, they prepared delicious kimchi with the children in mind.
