On the 30th, Taihan had participated in the “81st Arbor Day Tree-Planting Event” hosted by Dangjin City on the 27th. The event, organized by Dangjin City, was attended by approximately 200 participants, including Vice Mayor Hwang Chim-hyeon, city officials, local residents, and around 20 employees of Taihan. The company’s participants consisted of newly hired employees in 2026, for whom the event served as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of environmental protection and experience the value of shared growth with the local community. The event was designed to raise awareness of the importance of forests and to promote their public value through citizen-participatory tree-planting activities. Participants planted approximately 4,500 cypress trees—selected for their contributions to air purification and ecosystem improvement—across an area of 2.9 hectares (approximately 8,800 pyeong) in Gyoro-ri, Seokmun-myeon, Dangjin City, while also carrying out site maintenance and environmental improvement activities. This initiative is expected to expand green spaces in the region and contribute to creating a more pleasant living environment. Through this activity, Taihan plans to further strengthen cooperation with local communities while continuously expanding its environmental social contribution initiatives. In particular, the company aims to enhance awareness of environmental protection and deliver measurable environmental impact through hands-on activities involving employees. A Taihan official stated, “In commemoration of Arbor Day, it is particularly meaningful to participate in activities that allow us to reflect on and put into practice the importance of the environment together with the local community,” adding, “We will continue to carry out eco-friendly initiatives and contribute to building a sustainable society.” Meanwhile, in addition to tree-planting activities, Taihan is implementing various environmental social contribution programs, including the ‘One Company, One Coast’ initiative, used battery recycling campaigns, and endangered species protection activities. Through initiatives centered on the environment, education, and local communities, the company is strengthening its corporate social responsibility.

The company announced on the 20th that it received an Integrated “A (Excellent)” rating in the 2025 ESG assessment conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS). This accomplishment marks the fifth consecutive year Taihan has earned an A rating since becoming the only wire and cable manufacturer in Korea to achieve the distinction in 2021, following its incorporation into the Hoban Group. In the 2025 assessment, Taihan received A in the Environmental (E) and Social (S), and B+ in Governance (G), reflecting strong and consistent performance across the ESG pillars. These results are attributed to the company’s structured implementation strategies and its robust, organization-wide commitment to advancing ESG principles. Taihan continues to strengthen its sustainability efforts through its carbon-neutrality roadmap, installing solar power facilities and carrying out long-term ecosystem preservation projects. In collaboration with the Hoban Group, the company has also expanded its social contribution initiatives, including community volunteering, blood donation campaigns, and disaster relief efforts. Taihan also supports athletes with disabilities by providing employment and training opportunities. In addition, the company operates comprehensive family-friendly programs spanning pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare to enhance employee welfare and promote a more supportive work–life environment. To establish a transparent and ethical corporate governance culture, Taihan has reinforced its internal control and risk management frameworks and advanced its compliance systems. The company’s excellence in compliance was formally recognized through the acquisition of ISO 37301, the international standard for compliance management systems. A Taihan spokesperson stated, “Securing an Integrated A Grade for five consecutive years is a testament to our genuine commitment to ESG management and the collective efforts of all our employees,” adding, “We will continue to uphold ESG as a core value and pursue sustainable growth through balanced progress in environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent governance.” KCGS evaluates the ESG performance of domestic companies and assigns both category-specific and integrated ratings. In its 2025 assessment, the organization reviewed 1,024 companies, including 805 listed on the Korea Exchange, and awarded A Grade or higher to 216 firms, representing approximately 27 percent of those evaluated.

Taihan has won an integrated A grade in the 2024 ESG EvaluationTaihan announced on the 25th of October that it has won an "Integrated A grade" in the "2024 ESG Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). It is the fourth consecutive year that it has earned an A rating since it was the only one in the Korean cable industry to receive an integrated A rating in 2021. In this year's evaluation, Taihan received a grade of Environment (E) A, Social (S) A+, and Governance (G) B. In particular, the social sector fared the best, with only 172 companies out of 794 achieving an A+ rating. This is the highest grade possible in the assessment, as no company received an S across all categories.

NEWS PREstablishing Carbon Neutrality Roadmap
Establishing Carbon Neutrality RoadmapTaihan Cable & Solution has established a detailed carbon neutrality roadmap to achieve Net Zero by 2050. The greenhouse gas reduction targets are set according to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards. SBTi is a global initiative that validates corporate carbon emission reduction targets based on scientific evidence. Taihan plans to submit its reduction targets and implementation plans within the first half of this year, aiming to be the first in the domestic cable industry to receive approval from SBTi. According to its roadmap, Taihan plans to reduce the total amount of carbon emissions, both direct and indirect, from all its operations, both domestic and international, by 46% by 2031. In addition, the company aims to reduce carbon emissions from its entire value chain, including overseas subsidiaries, partners, and transportation, by more than 30% by 2031. The ultimate goal is to achieve Net Zero by 2050, meaning all carbon emissions from product manufacturing and business activities will be reduced to zero.

Conservation Activities for Endangered Species in Dangjin City for Biodiversity ProtectionThe Hoban Group's employee volunteer group, “Hoban Sarangnanumi,” made a donation of 10 million KRW to Dangjin City. This donation, collected from voluntary employee contributions, will be allocated towards the conservation of endangered species and the rescue of wildlife in Dangjin City, with the aim of protecting biodiversity. As a part of these initiatives, on December 20, 2022, Taihan employees participated in a feeding activity for endangered species, including the Korean water deer, in the vicinity of the Sapgyoho Lake Wildlife Protection Area in Dangjin City. Taihan will continue to be involved in various environmental conservation activities, working towards a sustainable future.

Taihan engages in clean-up activities to protect the environmentSince 2011, when Taihan signed an agreement with the city of Dangjin for the “One Company, One Coastal Care” campaign, the company has regularly taken part in volunteer activities to help the environment. On the latest clean-up day, employees collected more than a ton of garbage to create a cleaner coastal environment and a pleasant living environment for the locals. Employees also engaged in activities to protect the natural habitat of the Seoul Frog at the Dangjin Reservoir Ecological Park. The Seoul Frog is an endangered species whose population is rapidly declining due to the widespread use of pesticides and rampant environmental pollution. To this end, Taihan cleaned up the nearby environment with its employees to protect the habitat of the Seoul Frog. Meanwhile, the company has established a mid- to long-term strategy called “Green 2030” that lays out its plans to manage the environment, and is making efforts to help build an eco-friendly society.
