Taihan Earns “Family-Friendly Excellent Company” Certification for the Third Consecutive Term, Valid Through 2028

- Recognized for expanding family-friendly management practices aligned with employees’ family life cycles

- Provides up to KRW 35 million in childbirth incentives for up to a third child during employment, among the highest in the industry

- “Will establish a family-friendly corporate culture as a foundation for sustainable growth”

Taihan Cable & Solution (CEO Jongmin Song) announced on the 10th that it has been re-certified under the government-led Family-Friendly Certification Program, administered by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. With this re-certification, the company has earned the designation of a “Family-Friendly Excellent Company” for three consecutive terms.

The Family-Friendly Certification Program is a government initiative that recognizes companies demonstrating exemplary operation of family-friendly policies, including support for childbirth and childcare, as well as the promotion of a work–life balance culture. To qualify for re-certification, companies must not only maintain existing programs but also achieve outstanding results across a comprehensive set of quantitative and qualitative indicators, including performance outcomes and efforts to expand relevant systems.

Since first obtaining the certification in 2017, Taihan has continuously strengthened its family-friendly management practices. Through this year’s re-certification, the company has been recognized for the consistent operation of effective policies and tangible outcomes, enabling it to maintain the certification for a total of 11 years, through 2028.

Based on the belief that employees’ well-being is the cornerstone of sustainable corporate growth, Taihan operates a wide range of welfare programs tailored to the family life cycle, encompassing marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. Last year, in line with the expansion of its parent company Hoban Group’s “Child-Friendly Hoban Life” initiative, Taihan enhanced existing programs and introduced new ones, significantly broadening both the scope and scale of support.

Upon marriage, employees receive a congratulatory grant of KRW 1 million, while couples experiencing infertility are eligible for financial support of up to KRW 3.9 million for fertility treatments. Pregnant employees are also offered prenatal travel packages at domestic resorts, designed to promote emotional bonding with the unborn child.

Childbirth incentives have been raised to the highest level in the wire and cable industry, with KRW 5 million for the first child, KRW 10 million for the second, and KRW 20 million for the third and subsequent children. Employees who give birth to up to three children during their tenure are eligible to receive a total of KRW 35 million in childbirth incentives. In addition, the company has strengthened various measures to support work–life balance, including up to two years of parental leave, flexible working arrangements, and expanded health screening programs, thereby enhancing overall employee satisfaction.

A company official stated, “We have consistently reinforced effective welfare programs to help our employees enjoy balanced lives both at work and at home,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to foster a family-friendly corporate culture that alleviates the financial and emotional burdens associated with marriage, childbirth, and childcare, thereby building a solid foundation for sustainable growth.”
