공유하기PALOS is a dedicated submarine cable-laying vessel acquired by Taihan in November 2023 to strengthen its turnkey capabilities across the entire submarine cable value chain, from manufacturing and transportation to installation and maintenance.\r\n\r\nDesigned and constructed specifically for submarine cable installation from the initial design phase, PALOS is designed to perform stable and precise installation operations across diverse marine environments.\r\n\r\nPALOS has demonstrated its reliable installation capabilities by successfully installing both inter-array and export cables for the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Project off Korea’s west coast, despite challenging installation conditions.

· Self-Propulsion Capability: Equipped with its own propulsion system, the vessel can operate at speeds of up to 12 knots, providing greater installation efficiency and operational productivity compared with a Cable Laying Barge (CLB).
· Dynamic Positioning System (DP2): Equipped with a DP2 system that automatically and precisely controls the vessel’s position, minimizing the impact of external conditions such as wind and currents. This enables the vessel to maintain a designated position for extended periods and perform precise cable installation.
