NEWS PRTaihan Secures a Landmark 230kV Extra-High Voltage Power Grid Project in Singapore
Taihan Secures a Landmark 230kV Extra-High Voltage Power Grid Project in SingaporeOn December 11, Taihan signed a contract with Singapore's SP PowerAssets Limited for a 230kV Extra-high voltage power grid supply project. With a total value of KRW 140 billion, this large-scale project marks a significant achievement for the company. As a full turnkey project, Taihan will oversee the entire process, including the production, installation, connection, and testing of 230kV OF (Oil-Filled) cables and related cable accessories. Beyond this milestone, Taihan secured additional orders totaling KRW 220 billion in the United States and Sweden in November and December. These successive wins across the U.S., Europe, and Asia highlight the company’s global competitiveness and leadership in the cable industry. OF (Oil-Filled) cables are recognized as high-value-added products due to their exceptional electrical performance and reliability. These cables utilize insulation oil to form a robust insulating layer, but their complex production process and stringent maintenance requirements mean that only a select few companies worldwide can manufacture them. Taihan, having developed and commercialized OF extra-high voltage cables for the first time in Korea in the 1970s, has maintained its position as a leader in the extra-high voltage market.

NEWS PRTaihan exceeded winning an annual cumulative order of USD 300 million by winning a new order
Taihan exceeded winning an annual cumulative order of USD 300 million by winning a new orderAs T.E. USA, the U.S. corporation of Taihan, won an additional order worth about USD 24 million, Taihan won an annual cumulative order of USD 300 million in North America. Winning an annual cumulative order of USD 300 million is the highest record since entering the U.S. market in the early 2000s, and Taihan has already exceeded the annual order amount of last year (USD 240 million). The order won by Taihan this time is a 230kV Extra-high voltage underground power line project that is linked to a large-scale solar power plant to be built in the eastern desert of California. In March 2022, Taihan won the project to connect a large offshore wind farm on the eastern coast with the power system. Including these two projects, Taihan won new and renewable energy infrastructure projects worth about USD 80 million this year alone. Taihan expects that these achievements will play a positive role in the continued expansion of winning orders in the U.S.

NEWS PRTaihan secures a KRW 41 billion contract for an extra-high-voltage power grid project in the United States
Taihan secures a KRW 41 billion contract for an extra-high-voltage power grid project in the United StatesOn September 26, Taihan announced that it had successfully secured a 230kV extra-high-voltage power grid project from a power company in Virginia on the East Coast of the United States. At KRW 41 billion, the project, which involves an expansion of the underground power grid system in the Virginia area, is the largest contract Taihan has been able to secure since 2017 when it opened its branch office on the East Coast. Including this latest contract, Taihan has been awarded a total of KRW 170 billion in deals in the United States as at the end of August this year. This is triple the sum total of the amount Taihan was able to secure over the same period last year, and the best since Taihan began its operations in the United States back in 2000. Executives at Taihan point to the company’s more robust sales force and diversification of its products as the engine behind the company’s rapid growth. In 2017, Taihan opened its US East Coast branch office, expanding its sales reach from the West Coast to the entire country. This enabled sales representatives to work closely with local market stakeholders and deliver better sales. Starting last year, Taihan also expanded and diversified its range of products from the existing extra-high-voltage underground cables to extra-high-voltage overhead cables and middle-voltage/low-voltage cables. This year (as of August), Taihan secured orders worth KRW 70 billion in total from the East Coast, including New York and Florida, while securing orders worth KRW 100 billion in total from the West Coast, including San Francisco and Los Angeles, by August. In terms of product types, Taihan successfully won contracts for power cables of various voltages ranging from middle-voltage/low-voltage cables to 69kV, 138kV, and 230kV cables.
