On the 12th, Taihan announced that Taihan Cable VINA (TAIHAN CABLE VINA), its Vietnamese manufacturing subsidiary, has broken ground on a new 400kV-class EHV cable plant in Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam. This facility will serve as Taihan’s first overseas production base for extra-high voltage cables and forms part of its strategy to respond to expanding global power grid investments and strengthen its overseas manufacturing footprint. The new plant will be built on a site of approximately 56,200 square meters (approx. 17,000 pyeong) within the Long Thanh Industrial Zone in Dong Nai Province, where Taihan VINA’s existing plant is located, with operations scheduled to commence in 2027. Through this investment, Taihan VINA will expand its EHV cable production capacity and enhance its responsiveness not only to Southeast Asia but also to global markets including Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. Upon completion, Taihan VINA will become the only company in Vietnam capable of manufacturing 400kV-class extra-high voltage cables. On the 11th (local time), Taihan VINA held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new EHV cable plant at its Dong Nai facility. Approximately 150 attendees were present. The ceremony began with a traditional Vietnamese lion dance and drum performance, followed by welcome remarks, a commemorative video presentation, and a ceremonial groundbreaking performance. Participants celebrated Taihan VINA’s new leap forward while wishing for the project’s safe and successful completion. In his welcoming remarks, Joon-seok Kim, Executive Vice President of Taihan, stated, “Over the past 20 years, Taihan VINA has served as a core production base driving Taihan’s overseas business growth, built upon accumulated manufacturing expertise and strong quality competitiveness. With the construction of this new plant, we will contribute to the advancement of Vietnam’s power grid while playing a leading role in the global energy infrastructure market.” Vietnam’s power demand is rapidly increasing due to accelerated industrialization and is projected to grow at an average annual rate of approximately 10–12% through 2030. In particular, large-scale new projects are planned to establish transmission networks of 220kV and above, indicating that the construction of this new plant is expected to serve as a key infrastructure asset in meeting growing market demand. Established in 2005, Taihan VINA is one of Vietnam’s leading cable manufacturers, producing high-voltage (HV), medium- and low-voltage (MV/LV) power cables, as well as overhead conductors. Taihan Cable & Solution plans to further develop Taihan VINA into a second global production hub alongside its Dangjin Cable Plant in Korea through continued facility expansion and technological investment, thereby proactively addressing growing demand in the global cable market.

Taihan Discusses Construction of EHV Cable Plant in Vietnam’s Đồng Nai Province - Supporting Vietnam’s power grid expansion while developing a global production hub- Establishing Vietnam’s first 400kV manufacturing plant, targeting over USD 100 million in annual exports to Europe and other regions- Dong Nai Governor: “We appreciate Taihan’s investment decision and will fully support smooth and timely project implementation.” Taihan announced that on September 10, it held discussions with officials of Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, regarding the construction of an extra-high voltage (EHV) cable plant by its subsidiary, Taihan Cable Vina. Dong Nai Province, located near Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam, is widely recognized as a key industrial hub, offering strategic geographical advantages, abundant industrial parks, and strong infrastructure. The province has become central to Vietnam’s manufacturing industry and power infrastructure investments. The meeting was attended by Joon-seok Kim, Executive Vice President of Taihan, Eung-seo Kim, Managing Director of Corporate Planning, and Seung-ho Choi, President of Taihan Vina. They met with Governor Vo Tan Duc and other provincial officials to present Taihan’s investment plan, including the economic benefits for the region, while also discussing administrative procedures and infrastructural support to ensure the project’s successful and timely completion. Governor Vo Tan Duc stated, “This investment is a very meaningful decision that will make a significant contribution to the expansion of Vietnam’s transmission and distribution network. Dong Nai Province will provide active support to ensure that Taihan Cable Vina’s project proceeds without delay.” On August 13, Taihan had announced its plan to establish Vietnam’s first 400kV-class EHV cable manufacturing plant through Taihan Vina. The project involves a total investment of approximately KRW 75 billion (USD 55 million) and will be located in the Long Thanh Industrial Park, where Taihan Vina’s existing high- and medium/low-voltage plants are based. Construction is scheduled to commence in the first half of 2026, with operations to begin in 2027. With the new plant, Taihan Vina aims to respond to the increasing demand for EHV cables in Vietnam while significantly expanding exports to Europe, the Americas, and ASEAN markets. The company targets achieving annual overseas sales exceeding USD 100 million and plans to hire over 100 additional employees, adding to its current workforce of about 300. A Taihan spokesperson commented, “By working in close partnership with Dong Nai Province, we will ensure the timely and seamless construction of the plant, supplying high-quality, high-performance cables that contribute to Vietnam’s infrastructure development. With this investment, Taihan Vina will grow into a global hub for EHV cable production, following the success of our Dangjin Cable Plant in Korea.” Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Taihan Cable Vina currently employs around 300 people and produces a wide range of products, including high-, medium-, and low-voltage cables and overhead conductors. To meet the rising demand in the global market, the company has steadily expanded its facilities and invested in technology, achieving annual sales of approximately KRW 140.3 billion (USD 104 million) last year.
