Taihan Secures EHV Turnkey Project in the U.S., Accelerating Market Expansion
- U.S. subsidiary T.E.USA awarded EHV power grid project on a turnkey basis
- Taihan signs material supply agreement worth approximately KRW 120 billion with U.S. subsidiary
- Company responds to growing U.S. power grid investments driven by AI industry growth and data center expansion
Taihan has reaffirmed its market competitiveness by securing a major extra-high-voltage (EHV) power grid project in the United States.
Taihan announced on October 15 that its U.S. subsidiary, T.E.USA, has been awarded an EHV power grid project in the United States on a turnkey basis. Under the project structure, T.E.USA will oversee the entire project, including local engineering and construction, while Taihan's headquarters will manufacture and supply key materials, including EHV cables and cable accessories.
In connection with the project, Taihan has executed a material supply agreement valued at approximately KRW 120 billion with its U.S. subsidiary. The agreement was officially disclosed on October 15. The total contract value of the turnkey project, including engineering and construction, as well as the client's identity and other project details, will not be disclosed pursuant to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with the client.
This contract award is particularly significant as it further demonstrates Taihan's technical competitiveness and proven track record in executing projects in the U.S. power transmission market.
Taihan has continued to secure major contracts in the U.S. market, including an EHV turnkey project valued at approximately KRW 100 billion in January 2026. Notably, the company has secured all 500kV HVAC (High-Voltage Alternating Current) underground power transmission projects awarded in the United States, as well as a contract to supply 320kV HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) cables, further demonstrating its technological capabilities in the market.
Power demand in the United States has been rising rapidly, driven by the growth of the AI industry and increasing data center construction. This has led to greater investment in replacing aging power grids and developing new transmission infrastructure. Taihan plans to strengthen its position in the EHV cable market while expanding orders for high-value-added products, including HVDC and submarine cables.
A Taihan official stated, "As large-scale turnkey projects become increasingly important in the U.S. power grid market, we intend to leverage this contract award to expand our business opportunities. We will further solidify our position in the U.S. market by proactively addressing diverse customer requirements, including demand for large-scale turnkey projects."
