Taihan Participates in ‘WindEurope 2026,’ Accelerating Strategic Expansion into the European Submarine Cable Market

- Participation in the world’s largest wind industry exhibition for the second consecutive year, showcasing core capabilities

- Highlighting competitiveness of 525kV HVDC submarine cables for the West Coast Energy Highway project

- Strengthening market presence in Europe based on turnkey capabilities encompassing manufacturing and installation

Taihan Cable & Solution is accelerating its strategic expansion into the European submarine cable market.

Taihan announced on April 21 that it will participate in WindEurope 2026, to be held in Madrid, Spain, from April 21 to 23, where it will showcase its comprehensive solutions in the submarine cable sector, including HVDC technologies.

Hosted by WindEurope, the European wind energy association, WindEurope is the world’s premier wind industry exhibition, bringing together major global power developers, EPC companies, equipment suppliers, and policymakers. This year, more than 600 companies are expected to participate, sharing insights on renewable energy market trends, advanced technologies, and policy directions, with a particular focus on offshore wind.

At the exhibition, Taihan will highlight its core technologies and capabilities in offshore wind and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) submarine cables. In particular, the company will showcase its 525kV-class HVDC submarine cable, designed for the “West Coast Energy Highway” project, emphasizing its competitiveness in extra-high voltage and large-capacity power transmission. As a critical solution for cross-border grid interconnections and large-scale offshore wind integration, Taihan intends to leverage this technology to secure both domestic and international projects.

In addition, Taihan will present its track record in offshore wind projects to demonstrate its project execution capabilities and leverage this experience to expand collaboration with global clients and partners, while identifying and capturing new business opportunities.

The company will also introduce PALOS, Korea’s only cable laying vessel (CLV) dedicated to offshore wind, along with Taihan Ocean Works, its specialized submarine cable installation affiliate, thereby underscoring its installation expertise. Through its dedicated vessel and specialized construction entity, Taihan highlights its turnkey execution capabilities across the entire value chain—from design and manufacturing to transportation, installation, and maintenance.

In terms of production infrastructure, Taihan will showcase its supply capabilities centered on its Dangjin submarine cable plant. In particular, the company plans to significantly expand its HVDC production capacity through its second submarine cable plant, scheduled to commence operations in 2027, to meet rapidly growing global demand driven by offshore wind and power grid investments.

A company official stated, “This exhibition serves as a strategic platform to demonstrate Taihan’s technological expertise and project execution capabilities in the HVDC and submarine cable sectors to the global market,” adding, “Based on the extensive experience and technical capabilities accumulated since 2009 in both domestic and international markets, we will actively pursue contract wins and new business opportunities in key markets, including Europe.”
