Taihan has been formally recognized for its outstanding safety management capabilities in research operations.
Taihan announced on the 18th that the Precision Analysis Laboratory within its R&D Center has been awarded the “Excellent Laboratory for Safety Management” certification, a program overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The “Excellent Laboratory for Safety Management Certification Program” evaluates laboratories across industry, academia, and research institutes, assessing their safety management systems and operational frameworks.
Established in 2013, the program aims to secure research safety and promote a culture of autonomous safety management. Certification is granted following a stringent evaluation process across three categories: safety and environmental systems, safety management practices, and personnel safety awareness.
The certified Precision Analysis Laboratory, located within Taihan’s Dangjin Cable Plant R&D Center, is a pivotal research facility where the diverse properties of cables and materials are precisely analyzed to advance quality and support material-based new product development. Using advanced analytical equipment, the laboratory scientifically verifies quality and reliability throughout the entire process—from raw materials to finished products—enhancing the accuracy and completeness of R&D outcomes.
Taihan has steadily reinforced its safety management framework by establishing comprehensive operational principles for laboratory safety, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and strengthening its procedures. In addition, the company regularly engages external specialized agencies for consulting and programs, while providing continuous safety and health training to elevate researchers’ safety awareness.

Established in 1983, Taihan’s R&D Center is a dedicated research organization with more than 40 years of history. It leads product development and collaborative research in cable and power solution technologies, including extra-high-voltage, submarine, and HVDC cables.
