Taihan revealed they have participated in the “CIGRE 2024"
Taihan revealed they have participated in the “International Council on Large Electric Systems 2024 (hereinafter referred to as CIGRE)” held from August 25th to the 30th.
CIGRE is the largest global organization in the field of electric power transmission and distribution with about 100 member countries, 1,200 organizations, and over 15,000 experts. CIGRE holds biennial conferences, named Sessions, and exhibitions to share the latest technology and research achievements.
In this year’s session, Taihan organized its booth under the theme of “Total Solution Provider, Across the Continents and to the Sea ” where next-generation products and anchor products were showcased including the offshore wind power solution, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system, and extra high voltage (EHV) power grid system.
The offshore wind power solution was prominently displayed in front of the booth, highlighting the comprehensive turn-key capabilities, from the production of submarine cables to their installation. Taihan showcased its accomplishment of supplying submarine cables to projects in Korea and overseas, as well as the only cable laying vessel (CLV) model for offshore wind power in Korea. In addition, the step-by-step investment plan for the ongoing Submarine Cable Plant.
The HVDC cable system, designated as the national core technology, was also revealed. Taihan possesses advanced technologies, including the 500 kV current source HVDC land cable system, the first in Korea to be developed, and the 525 kV current source HVDC land cable system (3,000 SQ; allowable temperature of 90℃).
It also introduced various EHV power grid projects carried out across Europe, the birthplace of the cable industry, including the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, as well as the London Power Tunnels Phase 2 (LPT2) project, a large-scale tunnel construction project in London, UK.
