Pushes to establish a new plant to produce submarine cables
Taihan is promoting to establish a new plant to expand its submarine cable business. Preparations have also begun to establish an offshore plant that can produce large-scale submarine cables, and with the production that will start in earnest in 2022, Taihan plans to actively respond to the expansion of offshore wind power.
Taihan will focus on building Internal-array Cable facilities as its top priority. The Internal-array Cable connects the wind turbines to the marine substations through a turbine, and has the advantage of low facility investment costs and entry barriers compared to the External Cable connecting marine substations and land substations. As the larger the offshore wind power complex grows, the more the Internal-array Cable is used, business feasibility is expected to continue to increase in line with the expansion trend of offshore wind power projects.
