Project to increase transmission capacity

The Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) commissioned this project in response to Korea's rising power demand. Taihan delivered 75km of ACCC Overhead Transmission Lines to help enhance the transmission capacity of the 154kV transmission line erected in Seoul and West region of Gyeonggi-do.

Next-generation cables with improvements by supplementing previous-generation product flaws

KEPCO employed HSTACIR Overhead Transmission Lines to supplement the capacity of its EHV Overhead Transmission Lines until the 1990s. Taihan suggested the ACCC to KEPCO as a next-generation product to boost the capacity of its Overhead Transmission Lines, instead of HSTACIR, which suffers from sagging concerns and power loss, after developing a wide range of innovative products, including the ACCC, since 2000.
Between 2013 and 2015, Taihan collaborated with KEPCO on "empirical research on novel composite materials for high-capacity overhead transmission cables." KEPCO picked the ACCC as its next-generation product to boost transmission capacity based on the results.

We spent almost five years bringing the ACCC to KEPCO. We spent a couple of years performing
empirical research, a year on pilot projects, and another year with a dedicated task force broadening its applicability. This Sindeogeun-Susaek High-Capacity Overhead Transmission Line Project has a significant meaning in that it is the first project to be completed since the introduction of ACCC was approved. Using the expertise gained from successfully completing this project, we’ll endeavor to do our very best to guarantee the provision of even better outcomes in future initiatives targeted at increasing cable capacity.
